2011年設立時的「啟動文化」（On Books），是一個面向年輕大眾讀者的本土創作出版品牌。
那些年，編輯企劃題材方方面面，積極鼓動各界人士提筆創作，包括：廣告設計系教授張天捷，哲學系教授冀劍制，封面設計師黃子欽，散文作家米果，動物溝通師Leslie，編劇艾莉，BL作家摸摸，旅遊作家史丹利、Milly，主持人路嘉怡、馬克瑪麗，歌手魏如萱、陳綺貞等。
2018年末，引進簡版《唐詩鑑賞辭典》《唐宋詞鑑賞辭典》兩部上百位名家編選的巨著，並陸續出版中國古典詩詞研究者戴建業、石繼航、趙啟麟等的相關著作。
2023年改組編制，每年出版新書12種，重新聚焦在心理勵志、商業、職場生涯等非文學類型上。
打開閱讀的視野，是「啟動文化」設立初衷，也是持續前行不變的志向。
Founded in 2011, On Books is a homegrown publishing brand dedicated to original creative works for young general readers.
In its early years, the editorial team explored themes across a wide range of fields, actively inviting figures from many walks of life to write, including professors of advertising design and philosophy, cover designers, essayists, animal communicators, scriptwriters, Boys' Love authors, travel writers, TV/radio hosts, and singers.
In late 2018, On Books published Traditional Chinese editions of two monumental reference works originally released in mainland China: A Dictionary of Tang Poetry Appreciation and A Dictionary of Tang-Song Ci Poetry Appreciation, each compiled by hundreds of renowned scholars. On Books went on to publish a series of related works by researchers of classical Chinese poetry.
In 2023, the press underwent a reorganization and now publishes 12 new titles a year, refocusing on non-fiction categories such as psychology, self-help, business, and career development.
Opening up new horizons in reading was On Books' founding mission—and remains its unwavering aspiration today.
