2012年「日出出版」（Sunrise Press）設立時，是一個以文學、散文小品為主的一人當家（策畫&編輯）出版品牌。曾引介香港畫家何達鴻（John Ho）、貓室（Pam&John）、金澤麻由子、梅田俊作&梅田佳子…等圖文繪本，以及出版本土作家琹涵的《好詩》《好詞》系列作品。
2019 年改組擴大編制，重新定位為非文學出版品牌，每年出版約30至36種新書。主題涵蓋歷史、哲學、政治、經濟、經營管理、自然科普、美食、旅行等領域；無論是經典或當代、翻譯或創作、獨特主題或入門讀物，皆是我們持續探索的方向。
2021年起，自牛津大學出版社引進〈牛津通識課〉（Very Short Introductions）系列《美學》等書，已陸續出版31種。
日出而作，懷抱對閱讀不懈的熱情與希望，耕耘每一畝地，並持續巡田水去蕪存菁。

Founded in 2012, Sunrise Press began as a one-person imprint, run by a single editor-publisher dedicated primarily to literary fiction and essays. During its early years, it introduced illustrated books by artists such as John Ho (何達鴻), Pam & John (貓室), Mayuko Kanazawa (金澤麻由子), and Shunsaku & Yoshiko Umeda (梅田俊作&梅田佳子), while also publishing the acclaimed Good Poems and Good Lyrics series by Taiwanese author Chin Han (琹涵).
In 2019, Sunrise Press expanded its editorial team and was repositioned as a nonfiction imprint, publishing approximately 30–36 new titles each year. Its publishing program spans history, philosophy, politics, economics, business and management, popular science, food, and travel. From timeless classics to contemporary works, translations to original publications, and specialist subjects to accessible introductions, Sunrise Press is committed to publishing books that encourage exploration, curiosity, and lifelong learning.
Since 2021, Sunrise Press has published 31 titles from Oxford University Press's acclaimed Very Short Introductions series, including Aesthetics, bringing authoritative yet accessible scholarship to Taiwanese readers.
